Howdy everyone!!
Long time no see!! :P
Currently, all students in Lithuania get 10 days of autumn vacation, so I will try to upload something new to my blog during this time :3
I've decided i'm going to make a dedicated blog post about Cinema Bizarre MySpace street teams, who they were and what they posted about, so lets go! :P
First, what are ''street-teams''?
In the 2000s, when MySpace was big, street
team account began to appear. They were usually fan run accounts that
promoted something, organized events or made giveaways. They were most common
in the MySpace music scene – when bands started to have dedicated profiles to
themselves, so did street team accounts, for those bands.
Cinema Bizarre Street Teams, or Support
accounts
If you take a look on any Cinema Bizarre member‘s account on MySpace on the website "the wayback machine‘‘, you will see, that
that member, or the official band account has friends (that were like
followers), that are named something like “Official Strify Support
International”, or “Official Italian Cinema Bizarre street team”. These account
usually promoted Cinema Bizarre and their shows, ran big CB forums, or
sometimes even organized interviews betweet that street team and the band.
Also, street teams usually had a target demographic, by being a street team / support account for a specific country, because they would make posts in that language or promote events for people from specific areas. Sometimes even whole cities had dedicated CB street teams. Street teams often promoted each others accounts by being friends with them. If Cinema Bizarre was big in your country, it's likely that once there was a big street team account and a forum for it! :3
Street teams didn't limit themselves only to MySpace - they made accounts on other platforms, for example twitter or skyrock and had their own blogs and forums, where they would post the newest Cinema Bizarre news and photos.
And so, because of those street teams, you
often see pictures like these, where the band is saying thanks to a country’s
street team, by holding their flag,
